The unveiling of a new-look website marks the call for company entries for the 2026 BDoY (Bus Driver of the Year) National Final Competition.
This year the National Final will take place on Sunday 6th September based once more at The Imperial Hotel, Blackpool. As usual the weekend starts with a Gala Dinner on the evening of Saturday 5th September at The Imperial and culminates on the Sunday afternoon with the results presentation and prize giving ceremony.
Entry is online via the BDoY Competition Portal within the BDoY website – www.bdoy.co.uk - either by registering or using an existing ID and password. The entrance fee remains at £250.
Last year Michael Leech of First Bus North and West Yorkshire won the coveted title of Bus Driver of the Year out of a field of 101 competitors. BDoY’s website redesign aims to improve responsiveness of the site, particularly in relation to larger screen sizes, while ensuring the site is still relevant and looking its best. A gallery will include competitors in action.
Paul Mackay, BDoY Competition Secretary, said: “I'm delighted to announce that the 2026 BDoY (Bus Driver of the Year) National Final Competition is now open for company entries. Early entry via our redesigned website is encouraged before 30th April.”
